Vern
is an honorary Esmondrott
He
showed up one day at the home of Moe Mullen and Kathy Bach, in South Carolina.
Seems
that Vern and his littermates were abandoned when their owner moved
and had been living as feral dogs.
What
made Vern decide to go looking for his perfect forever home one day,
we'll never know.
But
he sure found it!!!
Vern lives a
great life now, as you can see by his happy and content smile.
In return, he's
the perfect dog, making everyone else around him happy as well.
He swims in the
pool every day, bosses the Rottweilers and is plenty spoiled.
However, we do
wonder what his feral ancestors might say if they saw
the following photos...
Vern quickly
made friends with the Rottweilers, Rogan
and Kellen at the time.
Now, his best
friend is Declen,
who Vern helped raise from a pup.
When Mike
Jackman first met Vern, he called me to tell me that he wanted to
bring him home.
I argued that
we did NOT need a stray dog and that he could stay in South Carolina,
thank you very much.
A year later, I
visited Moe and Kathy and got to play snuggle dog with Vern to see
for myself just how wonderful he was.
Of course, he
was no longer available, as they and every one else they knew had
also fallen in love with Vern.
And so, I
admire Vern from afar, and up close when I visit. Hope he's
with all of us for a long, long time.
